Ll week

We learned to sign the letter Ll today for lion and ladder. We also reviewed our letters as we do every week. Sam brought a lion and Addy brought a lion and a leopard for Ll week. The kids colored their weekly pictures for their folder and we also made lollipops to take home. We sang "This Little Light of Mine" and did the Pledge of Allegiance. Next week is our Christmas party. We are expecting an extra special visitor who wears lots of red!! We will also do our letter Mm so bring those Mm things. See you then!

Kk Week

This week we learned the letter Kk for Koala and kite. We learned to sign the letter Kk like a peace sign (two fingers) with thumb between them. We also reviewed our letters and sang the alphabet song. Sam brought a knight, Karson brought himself, Reese brought kleenex, Max brought Kris Kringle and Addy brought Karen from Frosty. All great ideas! We also colored our weekly pictures for our folders and made a kite for the letter Kk. Next week we will be learning the letter Ll so bring those Ll things!!!

Jj Week

This week we learned the letter Jj for juggler, jelly beans and juggle. We reviewed our letters and learned to sign the letter Jj. Much like the letter Ii but we move our pinky down to make a j. Sam brought jungle animals for us to look at, Max brought Bug Juice to share and Addy brought a jaguar and Jasmine. Good ideas! We also did the Pledge of Allegiance and did some jumping jacks for Jj! We did our Thanksgiving songs and talked about Thanksgiving as well. The kids then were excited to make Jack o'Lanterns for Jj this week. Next week will not be a letter, only Thanksgiving. We will resume the following week with Kk. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.

Ii Week


This week is Ii week and we learned that igloo, insect and ice cream all start with Ii. We also reviewed our letters and learned to sign the letter Ii with our pinky finger. Sam brought a picture of ice and Addison and Reese brought Indians to share for Ii. We sang "Ten Little Indians" and read the book "The Night Before Thanksgiving." The kids colored their weekly pictures for their folders and we made Indian headresses for the letter Ii. Next week is Jj week so bring things that start with Jj!!!

We learned the letter Hh today for hog and hat. We also reviewed the letters one at a time and learned to sign the letter Hh. Similar to a Gg but with two fingers. The kids brought some very good ideas for Hh - Addy and Karson brought a horse, Sam brought a hula hoop, Reese brought Hocus Pocus and Max brought a halloween bag with a hot dog, hamburger, and a hot pepper. Great ideas!! We did the Pledge of Allegiance and also sang "If You're Happy and You Know It." We started our Thanksgiving theme by reciting a couple poems about turkeys:
Five little turkeys flew up in a tree
The first one said "there's a man I see."
The second one said "He's coming this way."
The third one said "I'ts Thanksgiving Day.
The fourth one said "What's he going to do?"
The fifth one said "He's coming after you!"
Chop went the axe before they flew away.
They all were on the table on Thanksgiving day!
Then we made Turkey Hats for Hh that the kids could take home. They also colored their weekly pictures for their folders. Next week we will learn the letter Ii so bring those Ii things!!!

Halloween Party and Gg Week

We learned the letter Gg for goat and guitar. We also reviewed our letters and colored our weekly pictures first. Next we made our ghosts, learned to sign Gg, said the Pledge and sang some Halloween songs. We made our Halloween craft and did the Pinata!!! the kids had a GREAT time as you can see below!! Next week is Hh week so bring those Hh things. We will do circle time on Wednesday. Happy Halloween!

Ff Week

This week we learned the letter Ff for frog and football. We reviewed our letters as we do each week and learned to sign the letter Ff in sign language. Addy and Reese brought flashlights to share, Karson wore a future football shirt, Sam wore a "One Fish, Two Fish" shirt and Max brought a football to share. We talked about the flag for Ff and did the Pledge. The kids are doing well with this! We colored our weekly Ff picture for our folders. We were busy with crafts today making a Fall frame and a frog to take home. Next week we will have our Halloween party and will be learning the letter Gg. We will be having circle time on Tuesday so please make arrangements for this. Please send your child's costume to put on and take off as some are very uncomfortable for them to wear all day. If you are interested in bringing a snack, drink or treat to put in the pinata please let Brenda know asap. Thanks and see you next week!

Ee Week

We learned the letter Ee and things that start with Ee such as elephant and egg. Addy and Reese brought little elephants, Karson brought an egg and Max brought a bear with big eyes. The kids colored their weekly pictures of Ee and learned to sign the letter Ee. We reviewed our letters thus far and how to sign the ones we have learned. They are doing well. We sang "Do your ears hang low, do they wobble to and fro, can you tie them in a knot, can you tie them in a bow, can you throw them over your shoulder like a continental soldier, do your ears hang low???"
We then went to the kitchen to make elephants with wobbly eyes. We also made a spider to go on spider webs for Halloween time. The kids really enjoyed that. Next week we will learn the letter Ff so bring things that start with Ff! Last week the Child of the Month Aayla and this week our Child of the Month is Trevor. Learn about them and things they like on the information posted on the door.

Dd Week


This week we had circle time on Tuesday instead of Wednesday to accomodate an appointment Cindy had. We reviewed our letters and how to sign them and learned to sign the letter Dd and learned the sound Dd makes for doughnuts and dog. Sam brought a duck and a dog to share, Karson wore a Dallas Cowboys jersey, Max brought a dinosaur, Addy brought a Dalmation and a dog, Briella brought a drumstick and Reese brought a dolly. We sang "5 Little Ducks"
5 Little Ducks went out to play
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck said "quack quack quack"
4 little ducks came waddling back
repeat till no ducks come back.
No little Ducks went out to play
Over the hill and far away
Father duck said "quack quack quack"
and 5 little ducks came waddling back!
We also sang "Oh Where oh were has my little dog gone, oh where or where can he be, with his tail so short and his ears so long, oh where oh where can he be."
We did the Pledge of Allegiance and made a doghouse with a little doggy to go with it. The kids really enjoyed playing with them.
Next week we will have circle time Wednesday again and will learn the letter Ee so bring those Ee things!!!

Cc Week

This week was Cc week for clown and cake. We also learned to sign the letter Cc. The kids did great reviewing the letters and we sang the alphabet song. Sam is our Child of the Week this week with all his fun info posted on Brenda's door. Please take time out to read about him!! Sam also brought a character and a car for Cc week. Reese and Addy each brought a cat to share, max brought a can of Chiles and a cat while Karson shared his coat for Cc. We learned a finger play about a caterpillar -
Caterpillar, caterpillar, soft and furry
Winter's coming, better hurry.
Find a tree in which to creep
Spin a cocoon, fall fast asleep.
Spring will be here by and by
Then you'll be a butterfly!
We also colored our weekly letter to put in our folders and made a special caterpillar to take home! Next week we will be learning the letter Dd so bring those Dd things! See you then!

Bb Week Sam

This week we learned the letter Bb and how to sign it. We also learned that Bb is for bear and ball. The kids had some great ideas for Bb! Reese brought a bucket and her blanket, Addy brought a basketball and her horse named Bonacceli. Karson wore a blue baseball shirt and Sam brought his blanket and a book that we read called, God Loves The Jungle Animals. We reviewed our letters again and did our Pledge of Allegiance. The kids also wanted to sing our song for Bb - Baby Bumblebee (which they love)...
I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee, won't my mommy be so proud of me, I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee, OUCH, he stung me!
I'm squishing up my baby bumblebee, won't my mommy be so proud of me, I'm squishing up my baby bumblebee, YUCK, I'm all dirty!
I'm wiping off my bumblebee, won't my mommy be so proud of me, I'm wiping off my baby bumblebee, OH NO, I'm all dirty! Mommy is gonna be mad at me!

Welcome! Aa Week

This week we learned the letter Aa for alligator and apple. This year we will be learning sign language for each letter and learned to sign the letter Aa. Please ask them to do this for you! They will bring home a folder with each letter and how to sign it at the end of the year. Sam brought an airplane, Addy and Reese brought an apple, and Karson brought an alligator to share at circle time! We did the poem about apples:

Way up high in the apple tree, two little apples smiled at me, I shook that tree as hard as I could, Down came the apples and MMMMM they were good!

We also did a FAVORITE of the kids' - Five little monkeys with the alligator. Ask your child to do that one and I bet they will :)

The kids sang the alphabet song and went through each letter by sight. We did the Pledge of Allegiance and we also read a special book that Addison brought - "Follow the Moon."

After circle time we made our Apple craft to take home. Next week we will learn the letter Bb so bring something that starts with Bb!!! See you next week!

Review and Testing

We finished up the testing for the year. For the most part I have noticed an improvement from last year. The kids enjoyed circle time and always looked forward to it. They are all eager to learn. Their folders are finished and I put their testing sheet in them so you can see what they know and what they need to work on this summer. Enjoy it because it will go quickly! We loved working with the kids this year! Good luck to all the kids going off to kindergarten...Konner, Shea, Sarah, Caedon and Presley. I know they will do well!

Zz Week

We completed our letters today by learning Zz for Zebra. We reviewed our letters as usual and Addy and Reese showed their Zhu Zhu pets they brought for Zz. We sang Zippity Doo Dah and The Alphabet song. The kids made Zowie Z. Zebra puppet and colored his picture for the folders that are now complete and will be able to bring home!! The kids each took turns holding the flag for the Pledge of Allegiance. Next week I will be seeing just how much each child has learned individually. It's review week!!! See you then!

Yy Week

We learned Yy this week for yellow jacket and yarn. The kids used pieces of yarn from their craft to show and tell for Yy. Addy also wore a yellow shirt and brought a Yogi movie yesterday to share with the kids. We also reviewed our letters as always and we sang "If You're Happy And You Know It" and the alphabet song. The kids made Yackety Y. Yack puppet and colored their weekly picture for their folders. Next week is Zz week so be sure to bring something that starts with Zz!!! Have a great week!

Xx Week

This week we learned the letter Xx for x-ray. Addy brought a xylophone for Xx and they each had a chance to make beautiful music on it. We also reviewed our letters and sang the Alphabet song. The kids each took turns reciting their phone numbers as well. The kids made Xton X. X-ray puppet and colored his picture for their folders. Next week we will be learning Yy so bring anything that starts with Yy!!! Have a great week!

We will be learning Xx not this coming Wednesday, but the following Wednesday (because of spring break)....We had our Annual Easter Egg Hunt today. Needless to say, the kids have been "sugared up" for all you parents this evening :) Happy Easter! He is Risen!

Ww Week

We reviewed our letters as usual. The kids do excellent on this! We then learned the letter Ww for watermelon and walrus. Reese and Addison brought Wiley Wolf, Caedon brought a warrior, Konner and Karson brought Wolverine DVD and game, Max brought a watermelon and Briella brought wings! Great ideas and glad to see everyone is bringing things! The kids made Walter W. Walrus puppet to take home and colored his picture for their folders. We also tried to do several things that start with Ww- wink, wave, wiggle, waddle, and whistle. We also worked on phone numbers, addresses and colors today. Next week we will be learning the letter Xx so hopefully we can think of something that starts with Xx! Have a great week!

Vv Week and Brenda's Birthday


This week we learned the letter Vv and words that start with Vv such as vulture and vaccuum. Addison brought a vest, Max brought vitamins, Konner brought a Vikings jersey and Trevor brought a van. We took the time to review all our letters we have learned and we each took turns holding the flag as we said the Pledge of Allegiance. We also learned about Victor V. Vine and colored a picture. We made a Valentine for our craft. Cindy made chocolate cupcakes for Brenda's birthday and we celebrated at lunch time! YUMMY! Next week we will be learning the letter Ww so bring those Ww things!

Uu Week

This week was Uu week and we learned the letter Uu and unicorn, upside down and umbrella. Addy brought an umbrella (perfect for the weather today), Reese brought a unicorn, and Konner and Karson brought Up the movie to watch! We made Uncle U. Umbrella puppet and colored his picture for our folders. We also sang the alphabet song. Next week is Vv week and we will be celebrating Brenda's birthday (shhhh don't tell)!!! Bring those Vv things!!!

Tt Week

We learned the letter Tt for teddy bear and tiger. We also reviewed all our letters again and went over all the puppets we have made so far. Addy brought a tag system that the kids had so much fun using! Good idea Addy! Max brought tickets, Konner brought a work truck and Briella brought a tinkerbell purse that she takes to church each Sunday. The kids colored their weekly picture of Tickle T. Turtle and made our puppet to take home. We also celebrated Max's birthday today. Happy Birthday, Max!! Next week we will be learning the letter Uu so bring those Uu things to share! See you then!

Ss Week

This week we learned the letter Ss for sailboat and snake. We also reviewed our letters as usual. Great job! Everyone brought good ideas for Ss. Trevor brought a spiderman, Addy brought a singing Simon squirrel, Reese brought Strawberry Shortcake, Konner and Karson brought sweet snacks to enjoy, Briella brought a Strawberry Shortcake sticker book, suckers for everyone (thanks Briella) and wore a strawberry on her shirt. Max brought a straw, a sponge and a spoon also. The kids made Sally S. Sunshine as their puppet and colored her picture for their folders as well. We sang Itsy Bitsy Spider and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star too. The kids are doing very well with their letters. I am very proud. I think the favorite part of the circle time today was suckers of course and they certainly are looking forward to the sweet snacks later. Next week is Tt week so bring those Tt things!!! Rr Week

This week we learned the letter Rr for raccoon and rocket. We also reviewed our letters so far and the kids are doing really good! Briella brought us red raspberry jello to share, Konner brought a hat with an R on it, and Addy brought Rupunzel and Ratatouille for everyone to watch. Good ideas. We also made Rocky R. Robot puppet to take home and colored the weekly picture for our folders. The kids sang the Alphabet song and also sang "It's Raining, It's Pouring" for Rr week. Next week we will have the letter Ss so bring those Ss things! A big thank you to all who sent Brenda and me valentines last week. How sweet of all the kids! We love them all!

Qq Week and Valentine's Party

We learned about Qq and words that start with Qq such as queen, quilt and question. The kids colored their weekly picture and made their puppet Quinella Q. Queen. We reviewed the letters and talked about all our puppets we have made so far. We also shared what we brought. Addy brought a queen, Karson and Konner brought themselves...Quinn boys, and Brenda gave them all quarters to share. We also reviewed our phone numbers this week and sang the Alphabet song. We ended with the Pledge of Allegiance. Our Valentines party started with a dance party! The kids loved this! We made our Valentine bags and placed all our Valentines in them for each child. Such fun stuff! We even had a heart pizza for lunch today! We quieted things down a bit for a movie "Winnie The Pooh A Valentine For You" that the kids also enjoyed. Next week we will learn the letter Rr so bring things that start with Rr. And Happy Valentine's Day!

Pp Week

This week we learned the letter Pp for porcupine and pink paint. We also reviewed all our letters and the kids did GREAT! Keep up the good work! Addison brought a Pocahantas doll and was sure to remind us that she and Reese had pigtails for Pp too! Reese brought Plum Puddin doll, Konner showed a pencil, Karson showed a puzzle that we had LOTS of fun putting together and Max brought a pullup to show. Good ideas. And we all wore our pajamas and ate popcorn while making Pippy P. Penguin puppet. The kids also colored their weekly picture of Pippy for their folders. We sang "Patty Cake" and ate pizza for lunch! Great Pp week! Next week we will have our Valentine's Party with our letter Qq. Here is a list of kids:

Oo Week

We reviewed our letters once again this week learning words that start with Oo such as olive and otter. Addison brought an octopus, Briella brought oatmeal cookies and Karson brought a magnetic O. We talked about Octavia O. Octopus and we colored our weekly picture of her. We also made the puppet to take home. The kids wanted to sing our alphabet song and of course, we went through the letters we have already learned. Next week we will learn the letter Pp and we will have our annual pajama party so wear your pajamas to Brenda's on Wednesday!!

Nn Week

We learned the letter Nn today for nap and nose. We met Nutty N. Nutcracker and colored his weekly picture for our folders. We then made the puppet of Nutty N. Nutcracker. Briella brought Fancy Nancy, Konner brought a nerf football and Max brought a napkin. We had less kids so circle time was quick today but fun. We also talked about other things that started with Nn such as no, nasty, nose, nut, new, etc. We also took the time to review our letters and our addresses. The kids need to work on addresses and phone number as we will continue to work on these throughout the year.
Next week we will be learning the letter Oo so bring those Oo things. See you then!

Mm Week

Last week we just reviewed the letters since everyone was not prepared. This week we started back up with the letter Mm for milk and mouse. Addy brought a moose, Reese brought Micky and Minnie Mouse, Konner brought McDonald's happy meal box, Karson brought a movie, Briella brought a photo of "Mike, mommy and me," and Max brought himself (he enjoyed the round of applause), milk bottle and mustard bottle. We also sang our alphabet song, and our two monkey songs..."Jumping on the Bed" and "Sittin in a Tree." They love these songs! We also did the Pledge of Allegiance several times so everyone had a turn to hold the flag. The kids made Monty M. Moose puppet and colored him for their folders. Next week we will be learning the letter Nn and will have circle time on Tuesday next week. See you then!
