This week we leared the letter Ii and words that start with Ii such as igloo, insect and ice cream. The kids brought some cute things for Ii - Konner brought ice, Briella brought an ice cream cone, Presley, Addy and Reese brought three books that they loved reading...I See A Monster, Inch by Inch and IU Book. We also talked about all the letters we have learned so far. The kids are doing a great job with this. We sang Itsy Bitsy Spider and did the Pledge of Allegiance. The kids made Itsy I. Inchworm puppet and colored him for their folders. We had a fun time discussing Thanksgiving incorporating Indians for Ii. We made cute headresses and each took turns talking about things we are thankful for. I must say we have some pretty cute Indians!!! Next week we will learn the letter Jj and also talk about Thanksgiving again for the holiday. See you then!

Hh Week
This week we learned the letter Hh for hippo, hog and hat. Presley and Addy each brought a horse, Konner brought a hat and a Highlights magazine. The kids enjoyed listening to a story I read from his Highlights magazine. Briella also brought a hat, and Karson brought the movie, Horton Hears A Who. We reviewed all our letters and made Happy H. Hippo puppet and colored Happy H. Hippo for our folders. We also had a great time singing "If you're happy and you know it" and talked about the American flag since it is Veteran's Day. Each child took a turn holding the flag for the Pledge. Your child should know the Pledge of Allegiance very well. Next week we will be learning the letter Ii so bring those Ii things!

Gg Week
We had Gg week and learned the letter Gg and words such as guitar and goat that start with Gg. We had circle time and the kids shared what they brought for Gg. Max brought green grapes and green gloves. He also brought a cup of gatorade this morning. Addy brought a gorilla book that the kids loved and a gobbler which inspired us to sing some gobbler songs! Konner and Karson brought GTOs. Briella brought green apparel...a green hat and a green coat to share. Good ideas. Next week we will learn the letter Hh so bring those Hh things. We will also be working on the kids' phone number and address. We would like them to know this by the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Have a great week!

Halloween Party
Our Halloween party was lots of fun!!! We made crafts - a cute Halloween bucket, our snack bags for the Pinata and colored a pumpkin. We also sang a couple of Halloween songs and fingerplays and talked about pumpkins and jack o lanterns. The kids got pictures taken and it was time for lunch. Immediately after, we did the pinata - the favorite time for the kids. A big thank you to everyone for bringing candy and treats for our party. We loved the cute spider cupcakes - they were a huge hit...and when I asked who made them...Briella replied..."the bride made them." Thank you, bride ;) Next week is the letter Gg so bring things that start with Gg!!! Have a safe and Happy Halloween!

Ff Week
This week we learned the letter Ff and things that start with Ff such as frog and football. Briella brought fairy wings and a fish, Addy brought a frog, Konner brought a flashlight and Max brought a fork and a feather. Good ideas!!! We also sang one of our favorite songs...Five Little Monkeys. Ask your child to do the finger play for you!! They all love it! We also colored our Fancy F. Fish for our folders and made one to take home. The kids sang the alphabet song and we made another craft for our Halloween party next week. The kids also sang happy birthday to Dorothy...it's been one year already!!! A big thank you to Mike (Briella's dad) for the awesome painting on a pumpkin he brought for us to enjoy. We just can't decide if it's a boy or a girl. Next week we will be celebrating Halloween on Wednesday. Anyone who wants to bring a bag of candy for our pinata please bring them by Monday. Also anyone who wants to bring a snack or drink for the party please let us know. Thank you!! Be sure to bring a set of clothes for your child to change into after our party (they can come dressed up). It's always a fun party!!! Ee Week
For circle time this week we learned the letter Ee for elephant and eggs. Konner brought an excavator, ET movie, earplugs and Horton Hears A Who (elephant). Max brought an eggplant and an E that he made. Briella brought an Eiffel tower necklace and Addy brought Elefun (which they had lots of fun playing) and Elmo. The kids each took turns picking plastic eggs from an egg carton to find a picture. We talked about the pictures and decided if it started with the letter Ee. We found that engine, egg, elephant, escalator, envelope and elf all started with the letter Ee. The kids also made Eggbert E. Egg puppet from an envelope to take home and of course, colored him for their folders. We sang "Do Your Ears Hang Low" and we also incorporated some Halloween songs- 5 Little Pumpkins, the Witch Song and Itsy Bitsy Spider (requested by Briella). We then made a pumpkin to take home as well. Next week we will be learning the letter Ff - for fish and we will be celebrating Dorothy's birthday next week as well. She has been here since this week last year! Her wish list will be on the door :)

Dd Week
This week we learned the letter Dd and words that start with Dd such as dog, donut, dirt, dig and dust. We sang the song "Oh Where Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone" and our alphabet song. Konner brought a dinosaur, Karson brought a dumptruck and Addy brought a Dalmation dog. Good ideas!! The kids colored their weekly picture for their folders and got to make Doodle D. Dog puppet today. Very fun!! We also sang Happy Birthday to Dorothy the fish because she will be a year old in a coupleof weeks (Ff week). Next week we will learn the letter Ee so bring those things that start with Ee!! Have a great week!
