Christmas Party 2013

Had a great time visiting with Santa today!  He told all the kids they were all on the NICE list!!  This made them so excited.  And the gifts they got were awesome!!  We talked about the true meaning of Christmas as well and Gracie knew that Baby Jesus was born on Christmas Day!  The kids were so adorable today.  Brenda, Sid and I want to thank all of you parents for the wonderful gifts today.  It is a wonderful feeling to be appreciated and we feel this way today.  From the our house to yours, we wish you and your families a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  Remember Circle Time is to resume Tuesday, Jan. 7th.  See you then!!

Oo Week

This week we learned the letter Oo for otter and olives we sang The Alphabet Song
and talked about Oo. Alivia brought an ornament and Alaina brought an octopus.  Parker brought a stuffed octopus.  Kyle brought an octopus and a movie to watch- "Open Season."  Grace brought a book "Owen" that we read and Cooper also brought a book "Turkey Claus" that we also read.   We also recited The Pledge of Allegiance and colored our pictures for Oo.   We made an octopus from an Oo and also finished up our christmas gifts for our parents. Friday we will have a special visitor from the North Pole and have our Christmas Party!!!  We will take two weeks off from Circle Time and resume with the letter Pp then!!!  See you Friday!

Nn Week

This week we learned Nn for newspaper and nest.  We sang The Alphabet Song and shared what we brought. Grace brought a ninja turtle, Dyllon brought a book we read - "Nursery Rhymes,," and a picture of his cousin, Neal. Cooper brought Nemo, Alivia brought a number and a necklace. We also sang songs from her Christmas Songs book. Kyle brought a nativity giving us a good chance to talk about baby Jesus and he brought a movie "The Nuttiest Nutcracker."  Parker brought a nutcracker ornament and we also sang songs from his Charlie Brown Christmas book. All great things to share!  We made a nest with our Nn and colored our pictures for our folders. The kids also made a Santa Doorhanger. Next week we will learn the letter Oo so bring things that start with Oo. We will also finish our Christmas gifts for our parents. Friday will be our Christmas party. We will exchange gifts and have a very special visitor from the North Pole!!!  Always a great time!!! See you then!!

Mm Week

This week we learned the letter Mm for milk and mouse. We sang the Alphabet Song as we always do and shared what the kids brought. Cooper and Alivia both brought Mickey Mouse, Dyllon, Kyle and Parker all brought monkeys, Alaina brought  a mermaid and Alivia also brought Christmas music to listen to. Dyllon wore a monster shirt, Parker brought a music box and Kyle brought a book we read, "Maizy'/ First Clock."  Grace brought Brenda a mocha frappe too!!!  We did a favorite fingerplay of the kids- "Five Little Monkeys" and we made mountains from M. The kids colored their pictures for their folders and we also made our annual Christmas mice to countdown Christmas. The kiddos also worked on Christmas gifts for our parents. Next week we will be learning the letter Nn and we will also be taking pictures for our Christmas frames. See you then!

Ll Week

This week we learned the letter all for lion, ladder and lemonade.  Parker brought a lantern, Alivia and Alaina brought a picture of their sister Lexi and a lamb. Cooper brought a lemon, Dyllon brought a Leap Pad and little people. Grace brought a lady bug and Lightning McQueen and Kyle brought a lion. We sang our Alphabet song and did our Pledge of Allegiance. The kids made an Ll with leaves on it and colored their pictures for their folders. We also made some very cute owl turkeys to bring home and even started a special Christmas craft to be taken home much later in the season. Next week we will be learning the letter Mm so bring things that start with Mm. Please know we are so thankful this holiday season for your children and your families. They are all special to us. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Kk Week

This week we learned Kk for kangaroo and kite.  Dyllon brought kiwi for everyone to try and some play keys, Grace brought kisses (which we all did kissy face), Cooper brought a stuffed kitty, Kyle brought himself, a play kale leaf, keys and a kings hat, Alivia wore Hello Kitty pants and brought a Hello Kitty bracelet and a kit kat bar, and Parker brought a kazoo.  All good ideas!!!  We sang our alphabet song and we did our Pledge of Allegiance.  Kyle got to hold the flag today because his name starts with Kk.

We made a king from a Kk and also colored our pictures for our folders and to take home.  The kids also talked about Thanksgiving again and of course, the pilgrims and Indians.  This week we made Pilgrim hats for the kiddos.  Such cute little Pilgrims!


Next week we will learn the letter Ll so bring those Ll things!

Jj Week

This week we learned the letter Jj for Jester and Jellybeans.  We sang our Alphabet Song and shared everything the kids brought.  Kyle brought a Japanese Calendar that was really neat, Cooper brought James the train and Jessie from Toy Story, Grace, Parker and Alivia all brought their jackets while Dyllon brough a big Jingle bell that he played for us as we sang "Jingle Bells."  We also made a Jj with Jack O' Lanterns on it and colored our Jj pictures for our book.  We also started talking about Thanksgiving and how the first Thanksgiving involved Indians and Pilgrims.  We made Indian Headresses to wear today.  I love this picture!  Next week we will learn the letter Kk so bring Kk things!!!

Ii Week

We learned Ii for insect, igloo and ice cream. Kyle brought real ice cream, Grace brought a big stuffed insect, Dyllon brought cute insects in a jar, Parker brought an ice cube tray and Alivia and Alaina brought a toy ice cream. We made ice cream out of our Ii and made a cute insect on a stick. We colored our weekly pictures also. Singing our Alphabet Song is always fun for the kids and everyone is doing better and better on a The Pledge of Allegiance. Next week we will learn the letter Jj so bring those things that start with Jj.

Halloween 2013 and Hh Week

This week we learned the letter Hh for Halloween!  Hh also for hippo and hog and hat. We made our H with hearts and colored our pictures.  Kyle brought a hippo and a helicopter for Hh.  The kids then had their Halloween party!  We made so many cute crafts for Halloween that they will be taking home today. Ghosts, scarecrows, pumpkins etc. we did our Piñata and did ou "5 Little Pumpkins" fingerplay. Next week we will learn the letter Ii so bring those Ii things!  Enjoy the slideshow from our party today!  Happy Halloween!

Gg Week

This week we learned Gg for goat and guitar. Alaina brought green grapes, Alivia brought a green necklace and a gloworm. Kyle brought a goat and a giraffe, Dyllon brought a guitar (which he played while we sang our Alphabet Song), Cooper brought guys, and Gracie brought her brother Grayde (but he had to go to school) and herself!  I brought a special visitor, our puppy Gunnar. Gracie got to hold the flag for The Pledge of Allegiance and we made a Gg with goldfish on it. The kids also colored their pictures and finished our frames to take home. Next week we will have our Halloween party. This is always a great time. The kids can either wear their costume to Brenda's and bring a change of clothes or can bring their costume to change into for the party. We will have a piñata and of course have lots of goodies. We will also learn Hh for Halloween. See you then!

Ff Week

This week we learned about letter Ff for frog and football. Grace brought a Chicago Bears football, Dyllon brought a fireman and a fire truck, Cooper brought Nemo the fish  and wore a shirt with a frog on it, Parker brought a farmer, Alivia brought a frog and a football and Kyle brought a frog as well. All great ideas!!  We also did the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag. The kids made an Ff made of feathers and colored their pictures for their notebooks. We also worked on some cute fall crafts including a little wooden pumpkin. Next week we will learn the letter Gg so bring those things that start with Gg!!  See you then!

Ee Week

This week we learned Ee foe elephant and egg. We sang the song "Do Your Ears Hang Low" and Cooper noticed the egg looked like zhu moth Dumpty so we said that Nursery Rhyme together also. Grace brought an envelope, Dyllon brought a potato head with an elephant trunk and big ears, Parker brought an elephant puzzle piece and a blanket with elephants on it and Cooper, Alivia, Alaina, and Kyle all brought little elephants. We made an E with Easter eggs on it and colored our pictures for our folders. The kids made a little candy corn and worked on another special fall project to be finished soon. We will be taking pictures of the kids next Tuesday so you may want to dress them in fall like colors. We also will be learning the letter Ff so bring those Ff things!!!  See you then!

Dd Week

This week we learned Dd for dog and doughnut. We sang our Alphabet song and talked about Dd. Grace brought a dollar (that she said she earned from loving her mommy), Alivia brought Dora and wore a Dolphins jersey, Alaina brought a duck. Cooper, Parker and Kyle all brought toy dinosaurs. Dyllon brought another book about diggers and dumpsters that we read and he brought himself.  Brenda even brought doughnuts for all the kids this morning.  Dyllon got to hold the flag for our Pledge of Allegiance. We made dinosaurs out of the letter D and colored our weekly pictures. Next week we will learn the letter Ee so bring things that start with Ee. And another Happy Birthday to Cooper...who we celebrated today!!!

Cc Week

This week we learned the letter Cc for clown and cake. The kids sang the Alphabet Song and we talked about A and B also. Cooper brought himself and was able to hold the flag for The Pledge of Allegiance today. Dyllon brought a couch that the kids loved sitting on. And a Color book that we had fun reading. Grace brought Curious George stuffed animal, Alivia and Parker both brought cars. Kyle brought a Curious George book that we read, a car and cookies for everyone!  We made a Cc with cotton balls and colored our pictures that go in the their folders. Next week is the letter Dd so bring those things that start with Dd! See you then!

Bb Week

This week we learned Bb for bear and ball.  We sang the "Baby Bumblebee" song and talked about the sounds Bb makes. Dyllon brought balloons for everyone, Cooper brought a blanket, wore an angry birds shirt and brought a picture of big sis Briella. Grace brought a blue bunny, Parker brought a bat mobile with Batman, Kyle brought buckets, a bone, some fake bugs, and blocks to play with. Alivia brought a bear blanket. Since Brenda starts with Bb she held our flag for the Pledge of Allegiance. The kids made a bee from the letter B and colored their pictures. We also made a cute fall craft to take home!  We also talked about the color blue. Next week is the letter Cc so bring something that starts with Cc. See you then!

Aa Week - Circle Time 2013-14

We started out our Circle Time today with the letter Aa.  We have a whole new set of children, mostly younger so we are focusing on easier crafts and lots of coloring (motor skills).  But everyone did bring something to share that starts with an Aa!  Alivia brought herself!!  And she got to hold the flag for the Pledge of Allegiance. Alivia also brought an airplane to share.  Cooper and Kyle each brought airplanes, Kyle brought an angel also, Dyllon brought an A-Apple puzzle piece,Grace brought a book that we read - "Arthur's New Baby" and Parker brought animal crackers for everyone to have at snack time!!!  The kids then made an alligator from the letter Aa and colored a picture to put in our folders we will take home at the end of the year.  A good start to Circle Time and looking forward to Bb week next week.  Make sure everyone brings something that starts with the letter Bb.
To top off Circle Time this week we celebrated Grace's birthday!! Happy birthday, Grace!!

Zz Week

Ou last week we learned the letter Zz for zebra.  Everyone brought coats with zippers today, Reese brought a zhu zhu pet, and Dyllon brought a book that had a picture of a zebra and zookeeper.  The kids reviewed all our letters and we also reviewed colors.  We did our last letter sheet for our folders and made a z all ready for bed.  The kids also started working on a Mothers Day project and the older kids practiced writing their names.  Next week we will start some reviewing and working on numbers.

Yy Week

Yesterday we learned the letter Yy for yarn and yellow jacket.  We also reviewed our letters and talked about the color yellow.  Dyllon brought a yellow bus, Reese brought a yellow butterfly and Ayla brought a yellow duck to share.  We made a yard stick from the letter y and also colored our weekly pictures.  Next week is our final letter Zz so bring things that start with Zz

Easter 2013

We celebrated Easter today with our annual Easter Egg Hunt, making some fun bunny things and lots of laughs.  We sincerely hope your family has a wonderful Easter.  We will not have circle time next week due to Spring Break.  We will have circle time the week after with the letter Yy so bring those Yy things to share!!  Again, Happy Easter!!  He is Risen!

Xx Week

This week was our difficult letter Xx for x-ray.  We reviewed our other letters and talked about the letter Xx.  Logan brought a book full of words with the letter Xx and Dyllon brought a couple of alphabet books that had the letter Xx as well.  Ayla brought an x-ray picture of a flower and Reese showed us lots of x-rays on her ipod that her mom gave her :)  We made a xylophone from the lower case x and we colored our weekly pictures.  The kiddos also started some Easter crafts...one to take home and one to finish next week.  Next week we will celebrate Easter with our annual Easter egg hunt so we will hold off on the letter Yy until after Spring Break.  Have a great week and see you next Tuesday!

Ww Week

Today we reviewed our letters as usual and learned Ww for walrus and watermelon.  The kids brought good things starting with Ww.  Kyle and Leah both brought videos to watch. Bleach brought Around the World and Kyle brought Wubb Idol.  Logan brought a water gun, Reese and Cooper both brought Woody dolls.  Noelle brought a W book with lots of Ww words and Dyllon also brought Babys First Book of Words.  The kids enjoyed the books.  We made cute whales from the letter w and colored our Ww pictures. Next week we will learn the letter Xx so if you have anything that starts with Xx be sure to bring it!!!  See you then!

Vv Week

This week we reviewed all our letters as usual and learned the letter Vv for vulture and vaccuum.  Reese brought a vest she got from Santa, Ayla brought vegetable soup, Dyllon brought a cute vaccuum, Logan brought a villian, Kyle brought a vase with a flower for Brenda and Leah brought a visor that used to be her mommys.  All very good ideas and VERY CUTE!!  The kiddos made violins from the lower case v and colored their pictures.  We also stayed busy today making a St. Patrick's Day leprechaun to take home and we even got a head start on a project for our mommys!!  We also worked on our colors (singing our color songs during craft time) and we worked on our numbers.  Next week we will learn the letter Ww so bring those Ww things!!!!  See you then!

Uu Week

This week learned the letter Uu for unicorn and umbrella.  Leah brought an umbrella, Dyllon brought utensils and even baby Kyle brought a u magnet and pictures of a unicorn and unhappy.  The kids made unicycles from the letter u and colored their u pictures.  We also made a cute St. Patricks day craft.  Next week we will learn the letter Vv so bring those v things!  See you then!

Tt Week

This week we learned the letter Tt for teddy bear and tiger.  Everyone brought something that started with the letter Tt!  Reese brought a stuffed turtle, Ayla and Dyllon both brought cute light up turtles and Dyllon actually wore a shirt with a turtle on it.  Leah brought a stuffed tiger, Noelle brought a train, Logan brought a teddy bear, grace brought truffles and Cooper brought a tow truck!!!  Good ideas!!!  We colored the weekly pictures and made a toothbrush and toothpaste from the letter Tt.  Next week we will learn the letter Uu so bring things that start with Uu!  See you then!

Ss Week and Valentines Party

This week we learned the letter Ss for snake and sailboat.  The kids brought some great things for Ss...Leah brought a snow globe with snow flakes and a snowman inside.  Reese brought Snow White, Logan brought a spoon, Noelle brought a straw, Grace brought suckers and Dyllon brought a stuffed shark.  Great job!!  We colored our pictures and made cute squirrels out of the letter Ss and we continued with our Valentine Party.  Next week we will learn the letter Tt so bring those things that start with Tt!!  And have a happy St. Valentines Day!!!

Rr Week

This week we learned the letter Rr for raccoon and rocket.  We had lots of cool ideas for Rr.  Noelle wore a red shirt while Logan said his dinosaur sweatshirt made the sound, "ROAR!"  Grace brought a rainbow colored sweater and a red apple.  She also brought Roxy (her mommy), but she couldn't stay for Circle Time ;)  Dyllon brought a racecar and Reese brought herself and her doll named Rebecca.  Reese held our flag for the Pledge of Allegiance and we made cute little roosters out of the lower case Rr.  The kids also colored their pictures for their folders.  We also worked a bit on our numbers 1-5.  Next week we will have Circle Time on Thursday and we will be having our Valentine's Party.  We will also be having the letter Ss so bring things that start with Ss.  Here is a list of the kids for Valentine Cards:

Qq Week

Last week we missed circle time because of a snow day.  Today we learned the letter Qq for queen and quilt.  We also reviewed all the letters and shared our thing we brought.  Ayla and Logan both brought books about Qq which we took time to read.  Leah brought a cute stuffed queen doll, Noelle brought a duck hairbrush because ducks say quack!  Dyllon brought a football and wore a jersey foe quarterback.  All great ideas.  We made a queen out of the letter Qq and colored our pictures for the folders.  Next week we will learn the letter Rr so bring those things that start with Rr!  See you then!

Pp Week

This week we learned the letter Pp for porcupine and pink paint.  We reviewed all our letters as usual and we shared some very cool things for Pp.  Reese brought a pillow pet, Grace brought Papa Smurf, Ayla and Noelle each brought a princess baby and Noelle also brought a Pp book that we read.  It had all kinds of Pp words in it.  Dyllon brought a parrot and also some pumpkin muffins that we had with breakfast, and Logan brought a very fun piano that we each took turns playing with.  Everyone wore their pajamas and some of them, even pink and purple pajamas!!  Great ideas!!!  We made it into the kitchen to make parrots out of the letter Pp and color our weekly picture.  For lunch the kids had pizza!!!  Next week we will be learning the letter Qq so bring those things that start with Qq!!!

Ok Week

This week we learned Oo for otter and olive. We reviewed all our letters and the kids did great!
