Ll Week
This week we learned the letter Ll for lion and ladder. Sam and Ayla both brought lions. Sam's lion had a scary face and Ayla's lion made a roar sound. Trevor brought Lightning McQueen and Reese brought a lalaloopsy. She was also excited that her shirt said "FaLaLaLaLa." This reminded us that we could sing "Deck the Halls" to make the Lllll sound so we did. The kids also reviewed their letters and we made our Lion book filled with lots of Ll words. The kids did some preparing for Christmas as well today...it was certainly busy for us. We will not have have a letter until after Christmas break for the kids. Next week we will have our annual Christmas party - and a VERY SPECIAL visitor will be here. This is an awesome time for the kids. They LOVE every second of it...well, most do ;) See you next week!

Kk Week
We learned Kk for kangargoo and kite this week. We also reviewed our letters and sang all our colors songs. We shared what we brought this week...great ideas! Trevor brought a kickball, Reese brought Karen and Ayla brought keys. We made a kangaroo with cute little pictures of Kk words to go in the pouch. Next week we will learn the letter Ll so bring those Ll things!!! We also worked on a Christmas craft! We will be having a special visitor in the coming weeks so stay tuned!

Purple and Jj Week
We reviewed all our colors and learned the Purple song:

We also learned Jj for jester and jelly beans. After reviewing our letters again we shared things we brought for Jj. Trevor brought a jaguar, Sam brought a movie about a jaguar to watch and Reese brought Jingle Bells. We sang Jingle Bells with the jingle bells too!
The kids colored their pictures and we made Jackets with Jj items inside!
Next week we will learn the letter Kk so bring those Kk things!

Ii week
We went ahead and did a letter this week...Ii for igloo and insect and ice cream. Ayla brought a cute rabbit with icecream on his belly, Max brought Italian Seasoning, Reese brought an Indian and Trevor brought an iguana. Great ideas! We sang "The Itsy Bitsy Spider," reviewed our letters, sang the alphabet song and did our Pledge of Allegiance. The kids then made a little Ii craft and we made our turkey hats for Thanksgiving. Next week we will learn the letter Jj so bring those Jj things!

Hh Week
We learned the letter Hh this week for hog and hat. Sam brought hockey sticks, a hocky puck and honey. Trevor brought hockey men and enjoyed telling us about his team playing at the "Ice Box." Max brought a Santa hat and Reese brought something extra special...her hamsters! Teddy and Charlie were our visitors at circle time today. All the kids got to pet the hamsters and we watched them run on their wheel. We also did the Pledge of Allegiance and went straight into making our crafts. We finished our turkeys and we also made hats for Thanksgiving and Hh. Pilgrim hats that is. We were Pilgrims today. We will be taking the week off next week for Thanksgiving but the week after we will learn the letter Ii and the color orange so bring those orange things and things that start with Ii. Until then, we are sooo thankful for your children and their love of circle time. We hope you and your families have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

Gg and Green Week
This week was busy. We reviewed our letters and learned Gg for goat and guitar. Sam brought 5 goats and a gazelle, while Max and Reese both brought a goose for show and tell. Good ideas! Sam also brought his goats in a green box. Our color of the week - green. We sang the Green song as well.

We read Clifford's Thanksgiving Visit and made our crafts. We made a garage with many Gg words and we also made a ghost sucker. The kids started making Thanksgiving crafts by making our little marshmallow turkeys to be taken home later in the week.

Ff Week
This week we learned Ff for frog and football. The kids brought good things for Ff. Sam brought a bunch of first basemen, Reese and Ayla brought frogs, Trevor brought a firetruck and Max brought a flying monkey. We did the Pledge of Allegiance so everyone could hold the flag since Flag starts with Ff. We also made cute little fish bowls with Ff words.

Ee Week and Green Week
Green was our color and Ee was our letter for the week. Unfortunately Cindy was unable to attend because of sickness but we did Ee week and learned the color green. Everyone brought elephants except Max. He brought erasers to share. We made an elephant with lots of Ee words to take home. We also made a cute scarecrow for fall. Next week we will not be doing a letter or color. We will be having our Halloween party! See you then!

Dd Week
We learned the letter Dd for dog and donut. We also learned about the color yellow. Sam brought four dogs and a duck to show, Reese brought a dolly, Max had a drum, and Trevor three dinosaurs! Good ideas!!!
The kids had fun singing the alphabet song and also sang our Red song and our Blue song. We learned the Yellow Song (To If You're Happy and You Know It):

Cc Week
This week we learned the letter Cc for cake and clown. Sam brought cars, a cheetah and cows. Trevor brought a cars computer, Reese brought Clifford, a cat and a cow and Max brought a cat. Good ideas! We also sang our alphabet song and our two colors songs, RED and BLUE. The kids said our Pledge of Allegiance and we made our Cc craft. Next week we will learn the letter Dd and the color yellow so bring anything yellow or starting with the letter Dd! (Sorry, we didn't learn yellow today...next week)

Bb Week
This week we learned the letter Bb and the color blue. Max brought Buzz Lightyear and a blue bag, Reese brought a bunny and her blanket. Sam brought a blue bowling pin and Trevor brought a bunny. We also reviewed our letters and sang the alphabet song. We sang "Baby Bumblebee" and our Blue song

Aa Week
We learned the letter Aa this week for alligator and apple and we also learned about the color red. Max brought a red apple, Sam brought a red mask, a red bag and a dinosaur that starts with Aa. Reese brought Ariel with red hair and Trevor brought army men and an ambulance with red stripes. We went over our letters and sang an Aa song (to Jingle Bells)

First Week of Circle Time
Today we basically just allowed the kids to have a show and tell. Max brought a Woody and Buzz that he painted, Reese brought lipsticks and a Clifford stuffed animal, Trevor brought a dump truck phone and Sam brought dinosaurs. We sang our "Red" song for next week

Xx Week
This week was a little more difficult but we made Xx out of paper. The kids didn't bring anything for Xx but we did review the letters with them. We learned to sign the letter Xx and we also learned Xylophone starts with the letter Xx. The kids colored their weekly pictures and we started some spring and Easter crafts. We will take a couple of weeks off but will start back with the letter Yy on April 27th. See you then!

Ww Week
This week we learned the letter Ww for walrus and watermelon. The kids took time to review all the letters just as we normally do and also review our sign language, adding the letter Ww. Addy says Ww is the easiest to do - holding up three fingers. Addy brought a wolf, Reese brought Woody, Same brought a whale and walrus, Trevor brought wild berry water and Max wore a Woody shirt along with bringing a Woody doll also. We sang a couple of songs..."Whistle While You Work" and "Where Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone." We did our Pledge also and headed in to make our cute little blue whales to take home and colored our weekly pictures for our folders. Next week we will learn the letter Xx so bring anything that starts with Xx! See you then!

Vv Week and Birthday Week
Yesterday was Brenda's birthday so we celebrated her and Max's birthday today at circle time. We also learned the letter Vv for vulture and vaccuum. We learned to sign the letter Vv and shared what we brought. Reese and Same brought valentines, Addy brought vampire teeth, Max brought a vest and we read a book - "Clifford's First Valentine." The kids reviewed all the letters with me and we did the Pledge as always. Then we sang Happy Birthday to Brenda and to Max and let Max open his gifts. Brenda would also like to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the wonderful gifts. Next week we will be learning the letter Ww so bring things that start with Ww!! See you then!Wednesday, March 9, 2011
Uu Week
We learned the letter Uu this week for unicorn, upside down and umbrella. We also learned to sign the letter Uu (like holding up two fingers together). The kids reviewed the letters with me and reviewed sign language for all the letters as well. Trevor and Addy brought umbrellas to share, Karson brought the movie Up to watch later and Sam brought a cool puzzle that had a Uu piece with a picture of an umbrella on it. The kids colored their weekly pictures for their folders and we also made umbrellas with lots of spring stickers on them. Next week is the letter Vv so bring things that start with Vv!! Have a great week!

Tt Week
This week we learned the letter Tt for teddy bear and turtle. We also learned to sign the letter Tt and reviewed all our letters we have learned so far. Trevor brought himself and some trucks to share. Sam brought a movie with tigers in it, Max brought a turtle and Karson brought a telephone for the letter Tt. All great ideas. We let the kids watch Sam's movie to see the tigers and we sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" for Tt. The kids also colored their Tt for their folders and we made some very cute little turtles. Next week is Uu week so bring those Uu things!!!

This week we learned the letter Ss for snake and sailboat. We also learned to sign the letter Ss - the easiest...hand like a fist. We reviewed our letters and did our sign language. The kids also colored their Ss pictures for their folders. Sam brought a snake, and a sea lion and we even passed him around! Reese brought strawberry shortcakes, Trevor brought socks, Max brought a spoon, Karson brought a sword and Addy wore her Silvermist dress. Great ideas! Rr Week
This week we learned the letter Rr for robot and raccoon. We reviewed our letters A-R and reviewed how to sign them all. We also took turns holding the flag for the Pledge. The kids brought some great things for Rr - Addy and Reese brought a rabbit for show and tell and we also tried to pass around Reese :) Sam brought a rooster while Max brought a picture of a robot. Great ideas! The kids colored their weekly pictures for their folders and we made rabbits to take home. Next week we will learn the letter Ss so bring those Ss things!!!

Qq Week
We couldn't do circle time last week because of the "blizzard of 2011" - but we are back on track today and learned the letter Qq for queen and quilt. We reviewed our letters and learned to sign the letter Qq (which the kids thought was a bit easier than most). Reese brought a quarter to share and Sam brought a Queen card. Great ideas! We had the kids color their weekly pictures for their folders and made question marks with a quarter on them as our craft. Next week we will be having our Valentine's Party on Monday and circle time on Wednesday learning the letter Rr. So bring those Rr things!

Pp Week
We had a pajama party today for Pp week! Everyone wore their pajamas and everyone brought pillow pets! We had dolphins, dogs and a ladybug. Max even wore penguin pajamas! We had popcorn while watching "Happy Feet" and had pizza and peas for lunch! The kids colored their weekly pictures, reviewed the letters, learned to sign the letter Pp and made a penguin on a popsicle stick. This week is always a favorite for the kids. Next week is Qq week so bring those things that start with Qq!

Oo Week
Learned the letter Oo for otter and olives. Learned the sign the letter O - looks just like the O! We also reviewed all the letters and did our Pledge of Allegiance. Shea was with us today and she brought an octopus to share. Trevor brought an orange fish. Sam brought an octopus picture, a ball that looks like an O and some oatmeal. Max brought a donut that looks like an O and oatmeal. Addy brought an owl and Reese brought a very fun book - Dinner with Olivia - which we had fun reading. The kids colored their weekly pictures for their folders and we made a super cute owl! Next week is Pp week and out annual pajama and popcorn party. Only pajamas allowed on this day!! Nn Week

This week we learned the letter Nn for newspaper. We also learned to sign the letter Nn. We reviewed our letters one by one and the kids did great. Addy brought a necklace to show, Reese brought a Nintendo DS and wore a Nike outfit. Sam brought the Nutcracker movie to watch, Max brought a newspaper, an N magnet and Nerds. Trevor showed us a nail that Brenda gave him and Karson brought his nose!!! We did the Pledge of Allegiance and colored our weekly pictures for the folders. We then made very cute little nests that the kids loved making. Next week we will learn the letter Oo so bring those Oo things! Have a great week!

Mm Week
This week we learned the letter Mm. We took our time to review the letters since we had so much time off. Everyone did well reciting them. We learned to sign the letter Mm also. We learned that Mm is for milk and mouse. Sam brought Minnie and Mickey mouse, Trevor brought a motorcycle, Addy brought a manatee and Minnie Mouse and Max brought himself and chocolate milk to share at lunch time! Great ideas. We did the Pledge and couldn't pass up the opportunity to do our favorite fingerplay for Mm - Five Little Monkeys Teasing Mr. Alligator. The kids LOVE to do this! We also colored our weekly pictures for the folder and made candy cane mice for a craft. Next week we will learn the letter Nn so bring those Nn things! Have a great week!!!
Brenda and I would also like to thank everyone for the Christmas gifts this year. Your children are very special to us and it is always a treat to spend the holidays with such innocent children. We hope you and your families enjoyed this time as well!
