Christmas Party

Had our party today - kids sang lots of songs...Jingle Bells, Away in a Manger, We Wish You A Merry Christmas, etc. Also made some cute ornaments for the kids to take home. Great goodies and a visit from Santa was extra special! Everyone but Max and Karson enjoyed the visit and the kids tore into their gifts from Brenda. A very special thank you from Brenda and Cindy for all the gifts. We appreciate your children!!! Have a very Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year! We will resume circle time when the children go back to school the first week of January. Enjoy the slideshow of pictures from today's party!

Ll Week

This week we leared the letter Ll and words that begin with Ll such as ladder and lion. Addy brought a leopard and Briella brought a lamb and a Little Kids Lion Cubs that the kids really enjoyed looking at and reading! Good ideas. We sang "This Little Light of Mine" and the kids colored their weekly pictures to put in their folders of Lulu L. Ladybug. We got to make Lulu with paperplates that the kids enjoyed making at craft time. Next week is our Christmas party and we will have a very special visitor named Santa!!! It's the most wonderful time of the year!! See you next week!

Kk Week

This week we learned the letter Kk for koala and kite. The kids colored their weekly picture of Kiki K. Kite and made the actual kite today after circle time. We shared what we brought for Kk - Konner and Karson brought themselves (and we actually passed them around lol), Briella brought a king (card) and Addy brought a kitten and Karen (from Frosty). All good things. We also reviewed our letters and sang lots of songs that with our letters. Favorites would be Mr. Alligator and Itsy Bitsy Spider. The kids also did the Pledge of Allegiance, each taking a turn at holding the flag. Next week we will learn the letter Ll so bring those things that start with Ll!

Jj Week

This week we learned the letter Jj for jester and jelly beans. Max brought jello to share and Konner & Karson brought their jackets for circle time. We reviewed all our letter people and the kids are doing GREAT! We also sang Jingle Bells for Jj. The kids colored their weekly picture of Jasper J. Jellybean and made a puppet to take home. We incorporated Thanksgiving by discussing the first Thanksgiving. We made pilgrim hats and made turkeys out of our handprints...always a fun thing for the kids to do! Next week we will learn the letter Kk so bring those things that start with Kk. Have a very happy Thanksgiving!!! Enjoy your weekend and know we are thankful for each and every one of the kids. They put a smile on our faces every day!

Ii Week - Indians!

This week we leared the letter Ii and words that start with Ii such as igloo, insect and ice cream. The kids brought some cute things for Ii - Konner brought ice, Briella brought an ice cream cone, Presley, Addy and Reese brought three books that they loved reading...I See A Monster, Inch by Inch and IU Book. We also talked about all the letters we have learned so far. The kids are doing a great job with this. We sang Itsy Bitsy Spider and did the Pledge of Allegiance. The kids made Itsy I. Inchworm puppet and colored him for their folders. We had a fun time discussing Thanksgiving incorporating Indians for Ii. We made cute headresses and each took turns talking about things we are thankful for. I must say we have some pretty cute Indians!!! Next week we will learn the letter Jj and also talk about Thanksgiving again for the holiday. See you then!

Hh Week

This week we learned the letter Hh for hippo, hog and hat. Presley and Addy each brought a horse, Konner brought a hat and a Highlights magazine. The kids enjoyed listening to a story I read from his Highlights magazine. Briella also brought a hat, and Karson brought the movie, Horton Hears A Who. We reviewed all our letters and made Happy H. Hippo puppet and colored Happy H. Hippo for our folders. We also had a great time singing "If you're happy and you know it" and talked about the American flag since it is Veteran's Day. Each child took a turn holding the flag for the Pledge. Your child should know the Pledge of Allegiance very well. Next week we will be learning the letter Ii so bring those Ii things!

Gg Week

We had Gg week and learned the letter Gg and words such as guitar and goat that start with Gg. We had circle time and the kids shared what they brought for Gg. Max brought green grapes and green gloves. He also brought a cup of gatorade this morning. Addy brought a gorilla book that the kids loved and a gobbler which inspired us to sing some gobbler songs! Konner and Karson brought GTOs. Briella brought green apparel...a green hat and a green coat to share. Good ideas. Next week we will learn the letter Hh so bring those Hh things. We will also be working on the kids' phone number and address. We would like them to know this by the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Have a great week!

Halloween Party

Our Halloween party was lots of fun!!! We made crafts - a cute Halloween bucket, our snack bags for the Pinata and colored a pumpkin. We also sang a couple of Halloween songs and fingerplays and talked about pumpkins and jack o lanterns. The kids got pictures taken and it was time for lunch. Immediately after, we did the pinata - the favorite time for the kids. A big thank you to everyone for bringing candy and treats for our party. We loved the cute spider cupcakes - they were a huge hit...and when I asked who made them...Briella replied..."the bride made them." Thank you, bride ;) Next week is the letter Gg so bring things that start with Gg!!! Have a safe and Happy Halloween!

Ff Week

This week we learned the letter Ff and things that start with Ff such as frog and football. Briella brought fairy wings and a fish, Addy brought a frog, Konner brought a flashlight and Max brought a fork and a feather. Good ideas!!! We also sang one of our favorite songs...Five Little Monkeys. Ask your child to do the finger play for you!! They all love it! We also colored our Fancy F. Fish for our folders and made one to take home. The kids sang the alphabet song and we made another craft for our Halloween party next week. The kids also sang happy birthday to Dorothy...it's been one year already!!! A big thank you to Mike (Briella's dad) for the awesome painting on a pumpkin he brought for us to enjoy. We just can't decide if it's a boy or a girl. Next week we will be celebrating Halloween on Wednesday. Anyone who wants to bring a bag of candy for our pinata please bring them by Monday. Also anyone who wants to bring a snack or drink for the party please let us know. Thank you!! Be sure to bring a set of clothes for your child to change into after our party (they can come dressed up). It's always a fun party!!! The following week we will be learning the letter Gg so bring the Gg things then!! Have a wonderful week! Looking forward to seeing all the fun costumes next week!

Ee Week

For circle time this week we learned the letter Ee for elephant and eggs. Konner brought an excavator, ET movie, earplugs and Horton Hears A Who (elephant). Max brought an eggplant and an E that he made. Briella brought an Eiffel tower necklace and Addy brought Elefun (which they had lots of fun playing) and Elmo. The kids each took turns picking plastic eggs from an egg carton to find a picture. We talked about the pictures and decided if it started with the letter Ee. We found that engine, egg, elephant, escalator, envelope and elf all started with the letter Ee. The kids also made Eggbert E. Egg puppet from an envelope to take home and of course, colored him for their folders. We sang "Do Your Ears Hang Low" and we also incorporated some Halloween songs- 5 Little Pumpkins, the Witch Song and Itsy Bitsy Spider (requested by Briella). We then made a pumpkin to take home as well. Next week we will be learning the letter Ff - for fish and we will be celebrating Dorothy's birthday next week as well. She has been here since this week last year! Her wish list will be on the door :)

Dd Week

This week we learned the letter Dd and words that start with Dd such as dog, donut, dirt, dig and dust. We sang the song "Oh Where Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone" and our alphabet song. Konner brought a dinosaur, Karson brought a dumptruck and Addy brought a Dalmation dog. Good ideas!! The kids colored their weekly picture for their folders and got to make Doodle D. Dog puppet today. Very fun!! We also sang Happy Birthday to Dorothy the fish because she will be a year old in a coupleof weeks (Ff week). Next week we will learn the letter Ee so bring those things that start with Ee!! Have a great week!

Cc Week

This week we learned the letter Cc. We sang the alphabet song and Caterpillar, Caterpillar Soft and Furry. We also talked about words that start with Cc such as cookie, cat, cake, cup, cow, carrot, and car. Konner brought a Cubs cap and a Cubs shirt, Karson brought a cap and Addison brought a cat. The kids also made Coco C. Cookie puppet and colored their weekly picture.

Bb Week

This week we did circle time with Brenda only - for Bb week!! Max brought a ball and a Blue's Clues cup. Karson brought his baboo, Konner brought a bobcat, a backpack and Batman figures. Addy brought a backpack, a Barbie movie and a book to read. Reese brought a bunny. The kids did their letters and colored their weekly picture to go in their folder of Bubbles B. Bear and then actually made him to take home! We also talked about things that begin with Bb in a box - bandaid, basket, bottle, bib, baby and a bag were among the items. We also said that ball, bone and box all start with Bb. Next week we will be working on the letter Cc so make sure you bring those things that start with Cc! See you then!

Welcome Back - Aa Week

Welcome back to another year of circle time at Baby Bear Daycare! We learned the letter Aa today. Some kids brought things for Aa which is the normal each week. We would love for the kids to bring items from home that start with the letter of the week. We did a fingerplay called Two Red Apples: "Two red apples high in a tree, two red apples smiled at me. I shook that tree as hard as I could, Down came the apples, mmmm! They were good!"
Konner brought automobiles, including an Acura. Karson brought Airbud the movie to watch, Addy brought herself, an apron, an apple and an alligator. Briella brought an apple to share. The kids also colored Aggie A. Alligator for their alphabet folders and we made Aggie the puppet to take home. We took time out to choose apples that had Aa pictures on them: an axe, an alligator, animals, an astronaut, and an apple. Next week is Bb week so bring those items that start with Bb!!!!

Mother's Day

We have begun testing the kids to see how well we have done teaching them their letters. Not bad so far. We also took yesterday to make something special for our moms for Mother's Day! We hope you all have a very blessed and happy Mother's Day this weekend!

Zz Week

We finished off our letters today with Zz for zebra!!! We reviewed all our letters...going over them by sight and giving a word that began with the letter. The kids did very well!! We learned about Zz and the sound it makes. Konner brought a zebra for circle time and Presley and Addison and Caedon all wore zippers on their pants for Zz. Little Reese was so excited to hold the flag for our Pledge of Allegiance today since we celebrated her first birthday. The kids then made a zoo pull through page with Zz words on it. They are all excited to be finished with the letters but next week we will be working on addresses, shapes, colors and numbers. Have a great week and happy birthday, Reese!

Yy Week

This week we did Yy and reviewed our letters as usual. We learned words that start with Yy such as yellow and yarn. Presley and Addy brought Yogi Bear videos to watch. Karson brought a Yankees hat and Konner brought a yellow pencil. Caedon brought a yellow submarine. All good ideas. We sang "If You're Happy and You Know It" and we also did our Pledge. After we did circle time we made yaks with yellow yarn. Next week we will be learning the letter Zz so bring those Zz things!! Have a great week!!!

Xx Week

This week is always a hard week because not many words begin with Xx besides X-Ray. We reviewed our letters as always and did the Pledge. The kids were a little rusty but they came through and we sang our alphabet song. Konner brought an excavator to show and we talked about x-ray vision and words that have x in them such as fox, six and box. We made a craft with all those words as well. Next week is Yy week. A little easier so bring those Yy things!! I hope everyone had a nice break and a good Easter. Only a few more weeks left of circle time. After we finish the letters we will start working on all the numbers and shapes and colors. Not necessarily one at a time but we will finish off with those. Have a great week!

Easter Egg Hunt

We made some bags to put our Easter eggs in for our Easter Egg Hunt and headed out to find some eggs! Happy Easter and see you after Spring Break!

Ww Week

We had to have circle time on Tuesday again because of a conflict in schedule. We reviewed our letters again as usual and learned our new letter Ww and words that start with Ww such as walrus and watermelon. Addy brought Wiley the Wolf, Caedon brought a wolverine, Grayden showed us water in the bottom of his Flippin Frogs and Konner brought Wall E to watch!!! Good ideas! We sang "Oh Where oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone" and our alphabet song. We also did our Pledge as always. We then made a whale with Ww letters in between for our craft. Next week we will be doing our annual Easter Egg hunt so we will not learn a letter. We will continue after Spring Break then on April 15th. Tax Day :) See you next week.

Vv Week and St. Patrick's Day

We did circle time on Tuesday this week because of a conflict in Cindy's schedule. Although the kids didn't bring anything for Vv we still thought of words beginning with Vv such as vaccuum and vampire. We also reviewed our letters as usual and sang the alphabet song. We did our Pledge of Allegiance and also sang the Leprechaun song for St. Patrick's Day. We discussed the St. Patrick's Day and each child got a black pot for the leprechaun to fill while they sleep. All the kids were attentive and are looking forward to their special treat today. We made a St. Patrick's Day craft and also a vegetable craft with many Vv words. Next week is Ww week so bring those Ww things. We will have circle time on the regular day - Wednesday and we apologize for any inconvenience. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Uu Week

This week is Uu week and we reviewed our alphabet again. The kids are doing great and we appreciate this review time, it works well. Brenda worked on numbers with the kids by making gumball machines with numbered gumballs. We learned our new letter Uu and words that start with Uu such as unicorn and umbrella. Konner and Karson wore uniforms for the letter Uu and Presley and Addison brought unicorns for show and tell. Good ideas! We then made some cute little umbrella crafts also with Uu words inside them to take home. We talked about St. Patrick's Day and sang a song to go with it...

Then we celebrated Brenda's birthday!! Thank you so much Briella for the pudding to share and we also had cookies to celebrate!!! A big thank to all who brought gifts for Brenda today!!!!! We appreciate you all!!!! And Happy Birthday to the best babysitter in the world!!!

Tt Week

We learned Tt and words that start with Tt such as teddy bear and tiger. We reviewed each letter and the kids are doing great with them...getting better each week! We sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "Tiny Tim" song about a turtle. We also had to have everyone take a turn at holding the flag for the Pledge. Everyone knows the Pledge of Allegiance! We made little turtles with pull throughs of pictures of Tt words... toothbrush, telephone, tent, tie, tape, table, tire, and top. Brenda also shared that we will be having tator tots for lunch today. Presley and Addy brought cool little John Deere tractors with remote controls. Caedon brought a truck, Konner brought a transformer and Karson brought two tennis shoes. Good ideas!! After circle time we had Max's second birthday. Cute Blues Clues cupcakes!! Thanks Max and Happy Birthday! Next week is Uu week so bring things that start with Uu!!!

Ss Week

We reviewed our letters and learned the new letter Ss for snake and sailboat. The kids all brought such good ideas for Ss...Presley brought Strawberry Shortcake movie, Addy brought Squeeze, Briella brought a sheep, Spiderman movie and a very cool spinner. Caedon brought a shirt. We later talked about Konner was sick...and sick also starts with Ss. We sang our Alphabet song and sang about a star ... "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star." The kids also did the Pledge of Allegiance and made sunflower with real seeds!! Next week we will learn the letter Tt so bring those things that start with Tt.

Rr Week

We learned the letter Rr this week and words that begin with Rr such as racoon and rocket. We reviewed our letters again and shared things that begin with Rr. Presley, Addison and Briella all brought Ratatouille. Presley and Addison also brought the movie Rapunzel. Konner brought a Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Briella wore lots of red clothes today as well. We sang Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer and had lots of fun doing it with the little Rudolph that Konner brought. We did our Pledge of Allegiance and we also sang our Days of the Week Song. Afterwards we moved into the kitchen to make our craft - R is for Rabbits rabbit. Next week is Ss week so bring anything and everything starting with Ss!! See you next week!

Valentine's Party

A big thank you to Shannon (Briella's mom) for brownies, Amber (Presley, Addy and Reeses' mom) for the napkins and plates, and Sarah (Konner and Karson) for cookies! We made our Valentine bags and then had the kids each identify names to place them in the bags. We also sang some songs...one of which Presley taught us..."Valentine Red!" We also played a couple of games...Valentine, Valentine, Where's Your Heart and we played hide and seek with a heart as well. Next week we will be learning the letter Rr so please bring those things that start with Rr and have a great week!

Qq Week

We reviewed our letters and got to our new letter Qq. The kids shared some things they brought for circle time...Caedon brought a q-tip and Presley & Addy brought quarters. We sang "Five Little Ducks" because it says "Quack Quack Quack" in the song. We talked about things that start with the letter Qq such as queen and quilt. We also had everyone say their phone numbers and the kids are getting better and better each time! Of course, everyone has to have a turn at holding the flag for the Pledge so we end up doing it 6 times. Next week we will not have a letter and we will have our Valentine party. Pp Week

Pp week is one of our favorites! We let the kids come in pajamas and have a popcorn day! We started circle time with reviewing our letters and learning words that start with Pp such as porcupine and pizza. The kids brought some great things that start with Pp. Presley brought herself while both Presley, Addy and Reese wore pink princess pajamas. They also brought popsicles. Karson brought a very neat puzzle book about penguins. Caedon brought popcorn and a piana. We also did the Pledge of Allegiance. The kids are getting great at doing it! We then went into the kitchen to make a pumpkin with Pp words such as pizza, pipe, pie, pencil, pen and penguin. We also had an all Pp with Pizza, peas and pears. For dessert we even had pink cookies!!! Next week is Qq week so look hard for those Qq words. See you next week!

Oo Week

We started off by reviewing our letters from A-our new letter Oo. The kids are doing great! We learned words that start with Oo such as olive and otter. We also shared things we brought. Caedon, Presley and Addy all brought oranges to share - yummy! Karson brought a cute octopus and Konner brought an Optimus Prime. Good ideas!!! Presley and Addy also brought a cute book that we read - On the Seashore. We had fun discussing things on the beach like the book. The kids are doing GREAT at reciting their phone numbers!!! I was thoroughly impressed when Konner, Caedon, Presley and Addy all told me their phone numbers!! Good job working at home on this! Lastly, we did our Pledge of Allegiance...a favorite of the kids. They all know it too! To the kitchen we went, to make our Ox Boxes. We also put special treats in the box for the kids to take home...Oreos and Oranges! We also celebrated Briella's birthday. Happy 3rd Birthday, Briella!

Nn Week

This week we learned the letter Nn and words that begin with Nn such as nail, nickle, needle, napkin and nest. We reviewed our letters we have learned thus far and the kids are doing well. Presley and Addison brought necklaces to share for circle time while Brenda gave some noodles to Karson and a nickle to Konner to share. Caedon joined us a little late for circle time and I can say we are missing Briella as well. She started preschool...good for her! At least we know she is hard at work learning while we are. We went over our letters and talked about our phone numbers. If you haven't been working with your child on this, please do. Presley is the only one who knows her phone number and the remaining are working on them. We also did our Pledge of Allegiance - everyone wanting a turn to hold the flag and then we made nests as our craft. Next week we will be learning the letter Oo. We need some cereal boxes for our craft. If you have one we can have, please send it before next Wednesday. To finish things off we celebrated Konner's birthday with lots of cool gifts. Happy birthday, Konner! See you next week!

Mm Week

We reviewed our letters and everyone did well considering we had a two week vacation. We learned the letter Mm and words that start with Mm such as mouse and milk. Presley and Addy brought money to share and we sang "Five Little Monkeys Jumping On The Bed" and "Mary Had A Little Lamb." We also did the Pledge and I am still impressed with how well the kids do! We then made our craft...a book about a Mouse and a candy cane mouse to take home. We will be working on our phone numbers so please work with your child at home. Next week we will learn the letter Nn so bring things that start with Nn. We hope everyone had a great holiday break!
